DIT lecturer is President-elect of TUI

Mr. Paddy Healy, currently Vice-President of the Teachers' Union of Ireland, was elected as the next President of the TUI during the union's recent annual conference in Galway. Mr. Healy is a lecturer in the School of Physics in Dublin Institute of Technology and is also a Member of the Governing Body of DIT. Commenting on the election, Professor Brian Norton, President of DIT said 'It is a tremendous honour to be elected to office by your peers, and I am delighted to congratulate Paddy Healy, who has been a distinguished member of DIT's academic staff for many years, and is now President-elect of TUI. I believe it is an honour for DIT and I wish him every success!'

Mr. Healy will take up office in July of this year, when Mr. Derek Dunne completes his term as President.
