‌Alan Hilliard‌‌

Alan is a priest of the Catholic Archdi‌‌‌‌ocese of Dublin. Originally from Dublin’s north side, he has served as a teacher in a vocational school and as a curate in a number of parishes. He spearheaded the setting up of a chaplaincy for Irish back-packers in Sydney Australia, and went on to head up the Irish Bishops Commission for Emigrants and Prisoners Overseas. He assisted the Commission as it sought to adapt to the new wave of migration into Ireland. Alan holds a Masters in Social Science, a research Masters, which looked at the complexity of the task of integration in our globalised world. This background allows him to practice what one might term ‘Cultural Mediation’, providing facilitation to many groups including interfaith groups. Alan is currently the coordinator of the Chaplaincy Service at DIT.‌
